Sony Acquires Media Molecule: YAY!

Sony Computer Entertainment has Put The Ring On It to Media Molecule, just like their R&B Pop Diva, Beyonce by acquiring the Multi Million selling and award winning studio based on their success with LittleBIGPlanet. Media Molecule joins Sony Computer Entertainment World Wide Studios for an undisclosed number but everyone knows that it would be for a large sum *wink wink*.  All jokes aside, Sony has put a lock on one of the most unique and innovated studios in the game industry today with the intention to “secure execellence” in game development for “current“ and “FUTURE“ PlayStation platforms. Oh did we mention that ALL Media Molecule games are EXCLUSIVE PERMANENTLY on Playstation platforms!

Under the SCE Worldwide Studios umbrella, Media Molecule joins the likes of Naughty Dog, Evolution Studios, Guerrilla Games, Polyphony Digital, SCE Japan, SCE Santa Monica and Zipper Interactive.

Yes, LittleBIGPlanet in 3D ! Eurogamer has seen with their own eyes of Sony revealing LittleBIGPlanet 3D over at Evolution Studios, makers of the off road series, Motorstorm. Why 3D is good? Anyone who has played LittleBIGPlanet knows that with the current situation of gameplay, it lead to a lot of missed jumps & death ! Rich Leadbetter of Eurogamer had this to say about stereoscopic 3D:

Earlier Today, Mark Valledor, Marketing Manager for SCEA made the rumors of the GOTY Edition Official. Mark goes on to say that since EVERYONE is showing off the front cover of the game, they wanted to be different and go with the back cover. Oh, Mark, I see what you did there ! LittleBIGPlanet levels has turned to 1 Million User Generated Content since Launch!

That means you lot have created and published a level every 21 seconds since we launched the game last year! Apparently those million levels have been played more than 244 million times in total, wowee!

It should of increased since it was posted this week. Why? Just to make the creation level rate go up and also to have Sony, Media Molecule and US, report more statistics regarding this wonderful game!

Media Molecule has brewed up a video celebrating 1 MILLION User Generated Conent. Catch it after the Break!
