Earlier Today, Mark Valledor, Marketing Manager for SCEA made the rumors of the GOTY Edition Official. Mark goes on to say that since EVERYONE is showing off the front cover of the game, they wanted to be different and go with the back cover. Oh, Mark, I see what you did there ! Earlier today, Media Molecule has plugged in the necessary AC cables, cat5 cables and the proper switches to bring the LittleBIGServer to LIFE! For those that have preordered your copy of LittleBIGPlanet at GameStop/EBGames or any other place offering DLC, Mark Valledor has posted on the PSBlog that you can get your hands on your DLC later tonight.

Worst news has come to the LittleBIGPlanetNation! LittleBIGPlanet has been delayed indefinately due to a song on the level Swinging Safari. The user who brought this to attention is solid_08, posting this on the Official PlayStation Europe Forums. Now, don’t go crazy over him about this just yet. He does not want to delay the game from it’s release date in your region, but suggests that a patch be made online immediately. Whether how hard or easy it is for Media Molecule to come up with a solution depends how easy the game was coded. Which should not be that hard for Media Molecule since their game is based on customization.

EDIT: Oh hey, they already have a patch done and also an updated master disc waiting for pressing! Sony will be releasing new info about the new release dates soon. Stay tuned.

EDIT2: That was fast, LittleBIGPlanet will ship out the week of October 27th.

SCEE:

During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.

We will confirm the new launch date shortly.

As some of you may have noticed, LBP has been slightly delayed in some territories. At MM we were as shocked and dismayed by this as anyone – shellshocked and gutted. We can’t wait for you all to get playing and creating!

We learnt yesterday that there is a lyric in one of the licensed tracks which some people may find offensive, and which slipped through the usual screening processes. Obviously MM and Sony together took this very seriously. LBP should be enjoyable by all. So within 12 hours of hearing about this issue involving a lyric (in Somalian, I believe!), we prepared an automatic day 0 patch and had a new disk image ready; however a decision was made within Sony that the right thing to do for quality and support of people with no on-line was to replace existing disks. They assure us that they are doing everything in their power to get things straightened out as fast as possible, and will announce dates soon.

Apologies to everyone excited to play the game and I can assure you that when it arrives, it will be worth the wait! We want everyone to be able to enjoy the game, and this tweak should help – we’re just gutted it couldn’t be sooner. MM continues to work hard to support the game too. We know that LBP will be something that you can enjoy for a long time to come, when all of this is forgotten and all that remains are thousands of incredible levels and creations to play, create and share.

Let Teh Beta Begin!, FIGHT! [EURO] VOL.1

Eurogamer is reporting that the LittleBIGPlanet beta will begin tomorrow, yeah it’s kinda random for tomorrow as these new videos and information has been coming out the past couple days. There are 5800 codes up for grab and you can be one of the lucky few. Of course it’s a first come, first come deal but hey you can’t say you didn’t try. The beta will go through September 24 to October 12th, 2008 and during that time you can Play. Create. and Share for those couple weeks. Since this is being given out by Eurogamer, I would assume these are for gamers in that region. Don’t sweat it, an North America and other region should be announced soon.

Is this the LittleBIGPlanet manual? It’s nothing to get really excited about unless you are really into these type of things. Yes it is one of the better looking manuals if it holds true. What makes this really unique is the spirals on the side of the artwork to make it look as if it was a notebook/journal.

For the past year it was known that LittleBIGPlanet was going to be released on BluRay Disc in retailers around the world. But some had doubt that there would be a PSN downloadable version. Bits Bytes Pixels (BBP) got in touch with Kyle Moffatt of Sony Computer Entertainment Canada to clear things up. More after the jump.
