Associate Producer, Eric Fong, spoke to GameIndustry.biz and made it crystal clear that Sony is expecting LittleBIGPlanet to move units when released this Fall.
Eric says:
“It’s going to be a hardware seller. Not only do you have the platforming experience that a lot of other games will have, you have this creativity that really is exclusive to LittleBigPlanet,”
With sequals to flood store shelves this Fall and might put a cloud over this new IP from Sony and Media Molecule, you might think they should wait to release the game at a better timeframe. Eric thinks that their targeted audience is generally everyone which sets up for his next statement.
Eric says:
“It’s got enough complexity that people can play it and enjoy it for many hours; at the same time, if you’re just a casual user you can run through and play the game and have fun with it. Everything you see in the developer levels, you can create as the player.”
