Media Molecule’s New Website Celebration !

With a company birthday at hand, it was a perfect time to give our website a little makeover, and put it back together after some rather annoying spamhaxors destroyed it recently.

We’ve filled it up with some new bits and bobs that we hope you enjoy, the most poignant one today being the history section, which at the moment contains the first part of the Mm story, as told by mister Alex Evans.

Q: A number of key industry figures have said to me that they considered LittleBigPlanet to be possibly the most important title released in 2008 – not based on sales, but because of what it represented for user-generated content. What are your thoughts on that?

Insomniac Content Coming!

Insomniac Games LBP Content Soon!

Insomniac Games that brought the Playstation 3 with their first Elite game in the first couple years of the PS3’s lifecyle followed by Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and then the follow up Resistance 2 are currently working on DLC for LBP. As it shows from Insomniac Games Tweet, new LBP levels and Ratchet & Clank content coming soon! As you expect from Insomniac, they make the best of their resources to bring you great content. They even go on to say that this DLC WILL be “Bigger than MGS Even.” We’ll have to wait awhile to see what this announced DLC will bring. Maybe presented at the BIG trade show in about two weeks.

Media Molecule - Studio of the Year

The good folks over at Media Molecule has been selected as Studio of the Year at the 2008 Spike: Video Game Awards. Congrats to the studio studio who brought us the cutest, unlimited user generated content, online gaming fun, unlimited possibilities and COMMUNITY base game of the year and for years to come. What’s Media Molecule without mentioning the headliner of the show? SACKBOY! SackBoy has won many of us when first shown at GDC 2007 with the surprise of LittleBIGPlanet by then Sony’s Phil Harrison and Alex Evans. While others were won over the months that led from GDC 2007 at E3 2007/2008 and other events throughtout the past year plus.

PSU Previews LittleBIGPlanet, Yeah another site – YAS Vol. 2

David Wales of Playstation Universe has written up an article on his hands on time with what could be the BIGGEST exclusive for the Playstation 3 this Fall. During his hands on preview he had the chance to sit next to forum proclaimed Playstation Fanboy, N’Gai Croal. Alex Evans Helps Out Sony with their Keynote!!

Alex Evans whipped up a little demo of what Playstation statistics and future plans for the Playstation Nation. Later this year they plan on distributing Playstation 3s in Latin America as another way to expand their brand. The really cool thing with LittleBIGPlanet was that the game helped Jack Trenton present Playstation Statitics with bar graphs and NO it isn’t some cheap looking Excel look. They took it to another level and away from the boring Excel bar graph with the unique LBP style. Along with using the game for their statistical data, Jack OFFICIALLY announced Greatest Hits for the Playstation 3 for $29.99, games will be listed below. MORE TO COME !
